THE SATURDAY SEMI-SILENT AUCTION
For the last few years, we have been conducting what we like to refer to as our “semi-silent” auction.  We have realized over the years that some people have differing feelings on a live auction setting and may be hesitant to bid.  We took the silent auction that many may be familiar with and added a little flare.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

NOW FOR THE FLARE!!
We feel this adds a nice little excitement at the
end.  Try it out and experience it for yourself!
When an item has multiple bids on the sheet,
those bidders (and only those bidders) may
enter into live bidding until a winner is found!
It starts off like any silent auction, items are
tagged with a bidding sheet and numbered
Each item is given an opening bid amount
Bid increments are listed on the bidding sheets by price range (you must adhere to the
increments)
By tables/rows, we begin to close lots - No
more written bids

and the director of Acel Corp., a specialty brazing and welding supply
                company from Cheshire, CT.
Model Engineers are frequently limited in welding resources, equipment, and
experience.  This talk will focus on using readily available equipment
and techniques that are appropriate to the smaller shop and scale of
                our projects.
We will discuss: Brazing and soldering and their use on a variety of materials.
How to select an appropriate alloy and flux.  We will also discuss the
relative strengths and weaknesses of MIG, TIG and Arc welding.
